Pascal Oversized Denim Jacket Care Guide
Raw denim, how does it work
Your Pascal jacket is made of 100% raw cotton denim, unwashed and unstabilized. No chemical or mechanical treatment has been applied after weaving. It is the fabric in its original state.
In practical terms, this means the fabric will change. It will develop a patina, soften, and take on your creases. After a few months of wear, your jacket will be unlike any other. That's why we use this fabric.
Disgorging
Raw denim contains excess indigo which can transfer to other surfaces. This is normal in untreated fabric.
• Avoid contact with light-colored clothing or surfaces for the first few weeks.
• It diminishes quickly and eventually disappears
• If blue dye transfers to a light-colored garment, a regular wash is usually enough to remove it.
Washing
Rule number one: wash it as little as possible. Each wash changes the color. The less you wash it, the deeper the denim stays.
• 30°C max, delicate cycle (or hand wash in cold water)
• Always upside down
• Alone or with dark colors
• No bleach, no fabric softener
Between washes, leave the jacket outside to air dry for a few hours. That's enough to freshen it up.
Drying
• Flat or on a hanger, in the shade
• No tumble dryer
• No direct sunlight (uneven color)
Ironing
Rarely necessary. Raw denim has character, and its creases are part of that.
• If necessary: on the reverse side, low temperature (110°C max)
• Do not iron directly over the white topstitching
Dry cleaning
Possible, with mild solvents (hydrocarbons). A good option if you have a localized stain and don't want to do a full wash.
In summary
Wear it. Live with it. Wash it as little as possible. Raw denim does the rest.
